Galvanised thimbles are primarily used for the making of a hard eye on either a wire or rope eye splice. They're intended for use against heavy abrasion and saltwater environments to keep your eye strong and long-lasting. Can be used with many different rope varieties. Measurements given for each thimble is for the rope it is to hold.

The primary use of a nylon thimble is to protect the eye in your rope from abrasion and crushing. Can be used with many different rope materials. For a more hard-wearing, outdoor thimble that'll be in a marine / high humidity environment, it's recommended to use a ganvanised thimble. Sizes given are for the size of rope the thimble will be used for.
